We’ve Got Backpacks!
Game Ready Mom teamed up with Essence of Time to giveaway 4 backpacks full of school supplies to start the new school year. The packs are cute and durable with the tools your child needs to begin the academic year on the right foot.
Talk Is Cheap
One of my mom’s favorite sayings which was “Talk is cheap. It takes money to buy land!” Mom reminded us of the importance of keeping our word. She taught us to follow through on what we say we are going to do. But now, on a daily basis, we are dealing with people who over-promise and under-deliver. We don’t know the motivation but it makes it difficult to trust.
Return of the Divas: NFL Receivers Come Back
I guess we’ve gone back to the future. Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, and Randy Moss are three of the most talked about wide receivers in the NFL preseason. Each found a home with an NFL team; but one is already teamless. He couldn’t even make it out of preseason.
Priorities
When I was I child, I marveled how my mom got it all done. No matter how early I got up, she was up even earlier. Mom made the most of every day by keeping her priorities in order. My goal is to learn from that lesson and look at how I am spending my time and make daily adjustments to make the most of each day.
I Got Gold…I’m Super Bad!
Moms Kerri Walsh and Lashinda Demus both win medals at the 2012 Olympics in London. They are REALLY Game Ready Moms! Kerri Walsh won a 3rd Olympic Gold with her Beach Volleyball teammate Misty May-Treanor. Demus made it back to the track after missing the 2008 games with injuries, pregnancy and postpartum depression. They rock.
News August 6
The first weekend in August was jam-packed with thrilling Olympic games, a tearful speech by Curtis Martin as he entered the Hall of Fame and lots of baseball. There was also tragedy and disappointment. Thrill and Agony

Gabby Douglas lit up the world with a million-dollar smile and a Gold Medal performance in the Women’s Gymnastics All-Around competition – the first for an African-American. Fab Five – USA Gold Medal Gymnasts Sing America!
The United States Women’s Gymnastics Team – the Fab Five – are simply awesome. The young ladies represent a commitment to excellence, grit and steel determination. As they stood with hands over heart during the national anthem, I couldn’t help but notice that they are truly the Great American Melting Pot.
