The last day of March will be quite memorable for sports fans. Legends fell, like Griner and others were born of pain, like Kevin Ware. New traditions were founded in the American League as Bo Porter brought a hungry Astros team to the field. What a day!

Kevin Ware of the Louisville Cardinals suffered one of the most gruesome injuries in the history of sports. An injury the likes we haven’t seen since Lawrence Taylor’s hit on Joe Theismann sent shock waves through the football world. But many viewers are far too young to remember that moment. Like older fans remember Joe, we won’t forget Kevin’s pain – nor his promise that he’ll be back.

Jamaal Franklin and Sherwood Brown made us believe in college basketball again. The nation wouldn’t have learned about these two young men who “get it” were it not for the madness of the NCAA Tourney. We get the chance to see young men mature in front of our eyes, giving us hope that the next generation is smart, capable and willing to work hard. All of that from basketball? Yes, it can change the course of lives.
