Elite cyclist Lucy Garner participated in La Course, last year’s inaugural single stage exhibition race at the classic Tour de France. Cycling in such a momentus event placed her on the right side of women’s sports history. She’s been bking for over half her life, having rode in her first race at a mere nine years old. Throughout her junior cycling career, Lucy had remarkable success. She was a two-time junior road world champion. At 18, Lucy won the European Road Championship. Dedicated athletes like her add at least one more reason women deserve to participate in Le Tour.
As Lucy moves to the next level of competition, she becomes even more deliberate about taking care of her body, especially her nutrition. She’s teamed up with Brooke Alpert, renowned nutritionist and author, to the benefits of probiotics. Brooke’s best selling book The Sugar Detox: Lose Weight, Feel Great and Look Years Younger (Da Capo, June 2013) provides credible information about training and weight management.
