Ball Girls, News and Events — By Nkeshi Free on October 6, 2012 at 12:50 PMHispanic Heritage Month Continues!
Ladies, clearly you too enjoyed the beautiful selection of players of Hispanic and Latino descent in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. From September 15 to October 15 the country celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean Central and South America. This is Week Two of Keshi’s Cuties featuring some of the finest men of Hispanic and Latino descent in the NFL. I have enjoyed doing this series, as it has been fun researching the various players and learning about their unique backgrounds. Add to that to the fact that they are fine was an extra bonus! Remember to view, share, retweet, vote, and more importantly leave a comment on the page. Your feedback is critical, plus it creates a community. So even after you post go back to the page to see what others have said about your favorite player. So you know what to do….ENJOY!!!
Arian Foster #23, Running Back, Houston Texans
Arian Foster officially stole my heart this past March when he became emotional at his press conference after signing his new contract with the Houston Texans. Foster, signed a five year deal worth $43.5 million with $20.75 million guaranteed. Undrafted out of Tennessee, this former Volunteer is personification of the “American Dream.” Foster, who is of African-American and Mexican heritage, chronicled his personal struggles in his press conference. After hearing about his journey, I know that he has earned all that he has achieved. As a young child he recalled his mother pawning her wedding ring so that the family would have money to eat. That memory fueled his determination to succeed. He also recalled that smiling and laughter was what got them through the tough times.
After an up and down career at the University of Tennessee, Foster finished his senior year but went undrafted. Despite flashes of the greatness he now exhibits on the field, several costly fumbles at critical points caused most scouts to overlook Foster. In 2009 he signed with the Houston Texansand the rest is history. A two time Pro Bowler, Foster was the NFL Rushing Leader in 2010. He has more
than 3, 400 rushing yards, 33 TDs and 136 receptions.
In addition to signing a new multi-million dollar contract, Foster recently became a vegan. The move makes sense considering Foster was a philosophy major in college. Ladies, as fine as his body is, I imagine that this is only going to increase an already spectacular body! Did anybody else notice those eyes that look like melted Hershey’s Kisses? That mouth with those sexy full lips, look kissable soft… In addition to his multiple charitable endeavors, Foster is an avid writer of poetry. I have a poem inspired by Foster, “How do I love thee, let me count the ways…” girls I can’t I’ll be here for days.
Victor Cruz #80, Wide Receiver, New York Giants
After your repeated requests, the wait is over….Ladies, Mr. Sexy Salsa himself…yes Victor Cruz! Another undrafted free agent, like Foster, Cruz has set the NFL on fire! Cruz signed with the Giants in 2010 but it was his breakout season in 2011 that made him a household name.
Cruz, attended the University of Massachusetts and finished fourth on the all-time reception list, but he didn’t start until his junior year. Despite starting so late, in 2008 and 2009 he still named a first-team All Colonial Athletic Association wide receiver.
After signing with the Giants in 2010, the world would have to wait another year to be wowed by the talents and dancing skills of Cruz. A head injury ended his season and he placed on IR. Cruz more than made up for lost time in 2011. In one season he was a selected to his first Pro Bowl, tied the record for the longest TD reception (99 yrds) and became a Super Bowl champion.
Cruz, who is of African-American and Puerto Rican heritage, celebrates every touchdown by doing the salsa in tribute to his grandmother. It was this tribute in addition to his spectacular play that caught the attention of football fans everywhere. It certainly caught
my attention!! I had to see who was underneath that helmet with moves like that and I was not disappointed! Cruz took away my breath with that gorgeous smile! It’s so infectious it makes everyone want to smile with him. Oh and being a wide receiver the arms and legs are nice to look at as well!!!
Tony Romo #9, Quarterback, Dallas Cowboys
Now if you are a long- time fan, then you should have known that Tony Romo was going to make this list!! For three years, I’ve been looking for an excuse to feature Romo. Like
Gonzalez and Sanchez, Romo was also one of my original cuties. The beleaguered QB for the Dallas Cowboys stole my heart the first time he took to the field, representing America’s Team, replacing then quarterback Drew Bledsoe.
Romo also went undrafted and signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2003. The QB from East Illinois University signed on as the third string QB behind Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson. After some changes, the Cowboys brought in veterans Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe. Elevated to second string, Romo eventually earned the starting position when he took over for Bledsoe during the half time of the 2006 game against the NY Giants, and never looked back.
Despite the constant criticism regarding whether Romo is the right man for the job to helm America’s Team, his stats include being a three-time Pro Bowl selection (’06, ’07, and’ 09). He has more than 21,300 passing yards, and a QB rating of 96.9. His off field life was under just as much scrutiny as his on the field play after dating both Carrie Underwood and
Jessica Simpson. The now married Romo just welcomed his first child this past summer.
In addition to football, Romo is an avid golfer who has attempted several times to qualify for the U.S. Open. He’s also a second generation Mexican-American. His grandfather immigrated to the states as a child. His family cites Romo’s success as a reflection of the greatness of the United States. When I look at Tony Romo, the reflection I see is the boy next door (or the one I wished lived next door). From his boyish grin, to the dimples large enough for me to drown in them, I am an unashamed Romo lover. There are NO words to describe how fine Tony Romo is to me. My heart catches in my throat every time I see this man. Yes, he is the true definition of a Keshi’s Cuties.

Absolutely wonderful! Made me ponder upon new teams. Well, I will always be a Saints fan, but Arian almost caused me to add a new team to the roster. Plus, learned something new about Romo. Keep it up! Love it!
