The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers have 33 NBA titles between them. They’ve appeared in a combined 52 championship title series. These teams are the NBA. But the times they are a changing. Neither time is poised to go deep into the playoffs and if the current trends hold, that won’t change next season. But Brian Gilmore says they’ll be back. It’s NBA law.

The talented guard broke an NBA record and delighted the fans with a dazzling performance. There was a zone and he was deep, deep in it. Then the Lakers – who continue to fight for their playoff lives – took the game to the wire. Heroics happened. Guess which Laker? Friday night in the NBA.

Mike D’Antoni, now coaching from the Left Coast, gets to face his old East Coast Knicks with his old go-to guy. The Nets and Celtics rivalry gets hotter each game. The Clippers won’t slow down. What in the world is happening in LA-LA-Lakers Land? First they play the coaching carousel teasing longtime fans with the return of Phil Jackson. Then, in a major stealth move, the Los Angeles owners decide to hire Coach Mike D’Antoni – the man with no defensive plan. As of today, the team is scoring points and losing games. SP contributor Brian Gilmore has a lot of questions to ask Laker management.

Mike Brown is gone and will certainly land another chance in the NBA. He was Jim Buss’s first chance to prove that he’s just as good as Dad. Now he’s got another. Let’s hope this one ends much better.

Kobe found the All-Star and said, Stevie – we can do this. Together, we can do this. Must have sounded like sweet music to Nash’s ears. He gets enough money and he’s close to his family which was something the Knicks couldn’t offer.
