TGIF in the NBA – What a Night!
Forget deuces! Deron Williams threw up treys and took command of the New Jersey Nets game against the Washington Wizards on Friday. The talented guard broke an NBA record and delighted the fans with a dazzling performance. There was a zone and he was deep, deep in it. The New York Knicks are starting this NBA season with the fire of a team looking to win it all. They have only lost 6 games and are 10-1 at home. The team chemistry works. And for the first time, Carmelo Anthony is hustling. Much was made of his defensive efforts in a game against the Sixers where he dove into the stands for the ball. A fan lost his beer but New Yorkers found a new reason to believe in their Knicks again. Brian Gilmore breaks down these new look Knicks for us.
Will the Lakers Ever Work with D’Antoni?
What in the world is happening in LA-LA-Lakers Land? First they play the coaching carousel teasing longtime fans with the return of Phil Jackson. Then, in a major stealth move, the Los Angeles owners decide to hire Coach Mike D’Antoni – the man with no defensive plan. As of today, the team is scoring points and losing games.
